Rodger Gorbachov | Political Science Teacher | 30 | OPEN | FC: Zachary Quinto
From the streets of Brooklyn to the Royal Halls of Ivory Rose, Rodger has gone through one of the largest adjustments that have been seen at Ivory Rose. At the age of five years old Rodger and his family immigrated from Chernivtsi, Ukraine to Brooklyn, New York. His parents were political activists that stood up against the unfair control over Chernivtsi workplace by a corrupt group of individuals and because of it they were force to run for their lives. Seeking refuge in the United States, the Gorbachov family started a new life in the poorer parts of New York, but they still saw it as a better opportunity for their children then the life they would of had in Chernivtsi. If the family would have stayed, Rodger’s parents know that they would have been captured and killed leaving Rodger and his younger sister to fend for themselves. His parents became active in the community life in Brooklyn, starting up a House for those fleeing from their homelands due to political unrest or a price on their head. Rodger and his parents have been responsible for aiding and setting up jobs for misplaced people. Rodger’s interest in the affairs of the world stems from his parents resistance and seeing what an unjust government can do its people and how their lives are affected. Over coming temptations of drugs and alcohol that teenagers his age offered him was not an easy task. Ending up in rehab at the age of fifteen for drug abuse, Rodger has had to fight everyday the urge to take pills and get high.
The supporting family he had helped him through these trials and he knows that without them he would not be alive today. Cleaning up his act, Rodger performed better in school, received a scholarship to WCL Academy and went onto attend the University of Michigan and later onto Harvard University. It has been Rodger’s goal to help those affected by war, a demoralized government and an unjust system. In his travels to London for a conference just last month Rodger heard of a school where all the children of the world’s royal go, Rodger saw this as his chance to inform his students on what they as future rulers need to do in order to maintain a stable environment and protect their people from war and those who may try and take the crown from them.
